This chocolate brownie is super easy to make and only takes a few minutes to put all the ingredients together, then sit back and enjoy the lovely smell that will come from the oven.

  • 100 g Butter salted
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • ½ cup chocolate bits
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder


  • Set oven to 170°c / 340°f fan bake
  • Line a 20 x 20 cm (8 x 8 inch) baking dish with baking paper
  • Add butter, oil and chocolate to a bowl and heat until all melted
  • Then add vanilla and eggs to the melted mixture and mix well
  • Next add white sugar and brown sugar to the bowl and mix.
  • Then sieve in the flour and cocoa powder and mix until it is all incorporated
  • OPTIONAL – fold in ½ cup of chocolate chips, nuts or fruit.
  • Pour in to pan and bake for 30 -35 minutes


If you use a larger baking pan you will need to reduce the cooking time.
